A couple's Amazon Echo went rogue this week by recording their private conversation and sending it to their friend. According to the couple, their friend called them up telling them to turn off all of their electronic devices because they heard the ENTIRE conversation (about scandalous hardwood flooring)!Amazon has made an official comment about the scary situation saying, "Echo woke up due to a word in background conversation sounding like 'Alexa.' Then, the subsequent conversation was heard as a 'send message' request," Amazon said in a statement. "At which point, Alexa said out loud 'To whom?' At which point, the background conversation was interpreted as a name in the customers contact list. Alexa then asked out loud, '[contact name], right?' Alexa then interpreted background conversation as 'right'. As unlikely as this string of events is, we are evaluating options to make this case even less likely."I don't know about you, but I don't like Amazon's response! I've said it before and I'll say it again: NEVER TRUST ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE!!!Thank goodness the couple was only talking about hardwood flooring! It could've been much worse!
