3rd Human Trafficking Arrest Made

NRP say it involves trafficking in Niagara Falls and Toronto

A third suspect has been arrested for human trafficking in Niagara Falls and Toronto, for a case that dates back to August of last year.

At that time, the NRPS Human Trafficking Unit began an investigation into the alleged trafficking of a woman over the age of 18.

Two suspects were identified and arrested in October.

A Canada-wide warrant was issued, and on April 1st, 36-year-old Colin Bayley of B.C. was arrested out west, and charged with:

  • Sexual Assault, contrary to Section 271 of the Criminal Code
  • Assault, contrary to Section 266 of the Criminal Code
  • Utter Threats to Cause Death, contrary to Section 264.1, subsection (2) of the Criminal Code

Police believe there are other witnesses who may be able to help with this case, and are asking them to come forward.

They also believe there could also be additional victims/survivors and are asking that they reach out to police.
