Executive Director says millions of dollars coming into Niagara
Excitement for Niagara's Chambers of Commerce when it comes to the rise of construction through the region.
Executive Director Dolores Fabiano notes the last few very challenging years, and a workforce that hasn't returned in the same way since the pandemic.
She points to the benefits of construction crews coming here. "When you have folks who are working in your neighbourhood... they do a coffee run, they pop in for lunch, or their breaks, it really does help re-ignite business again."
As she considers the new South Niagara hospital, or construction of the Dain City bridge and area, or a $100-million business investment in Fort Erie, she's seeing millions of dollars.
"Those are things that municipalities can't necessarily do... they have to budget for it, and it could take years for us to get there. But when you have a developer who understands, they want to be a part of the community," she says.
The Chambers of Commerce covers Fort Erie, Port Colborne-Wainfleet, Niagara Falls and Welland/Pelham.
