Student athletes will need both doses in order to compete in the 2021-22 season.
Brock University student athletes will need to roll up their sleeves and get fully immunized against COVID-19.
The school says all members of varsity or club teams are required to get fully vaccinated in order to compete in the upcoming school year.
Anna Lathrop, Vice-Provost and Associate Vice-President, Students, says this is one way the school is helping keep students safe.
"We're grateful that varsity and club sports have been given the green light to resume this fall, but we want to make sure they're being conducted in a way that keeps our athletes, coaches, supporting staff and fans safe. This vaccination requirement is an important part of that effort, and will help us get back to the exceptional student experience Brock is known for."
The mandate doesn't include students participating in on-campus athletics like intramural competitions or anyone using athletic facilities for recreation.
All student-athletes will need to be fully immunized by either September 4th or two weeks before competition, whichever is sooner.
