Police say he was stabbed while sitting on Niagara Falls park bench, another man is charged
A 66-year old Toronto man is alive thanks to life saving surgery, after getting stabbed while sitting on a park bench in Niagara Falls.
Police say it happened last night just before 9, in the Queen Street and Erie Avenue area.
They learned the man was stabbed multiple times, while sitting, by an unknown attacker, who then ran from the scene.
Police used the K9 unit, and found the suspect on St. Clair Avenue, near Queen, a short time later, finding he was wanted for failing to comply with probation and release.
35-year old Luizao Miguel Castro, of no fixed address, was also charged with aggravated assault, and has a bail hearing today.
The victim is in stable condition, after being sent to an out of town trauma centre.
