UPDATE: LCBO Strike Begins

All LCBO locations across the province will be closed for two weeks.

UPDATE: A deal was not reached between the LCBO and OPSEU, so a strike officially begins today.

All LCBO retail stores will be closed for two weeks starting today, but online ordering will still be available.

This is the first strike in the history of the Liquor Control Board of Ontario.

ONTARIO - If you need anything from the LCBO, you might want to get it sooner rather than later.

Contract talks remain ongoing between the liquor retailer and the Ontario Public Service Employees Union (OPSEU).

OPSEU says the two sides are still far apart at the bargaining table, and it's expecting a long day today as they try to come up with a deal.

Roughly 10,000 workers will walk off the job as of 12:01 a.m. tomorrow if a deal is not reached before then.

All LCBO locations would be closed for two weeks starting July 5th. If a deal is still not reached by July 19th, only 30 stores will reopen across the province with limited hours.
