Liberal Government Projected

The Liberals are projected to form a minority government.

Polls have closed across Canada, and several media outlets including CBC and CTV are projecting a Liberal minority win.

It's still too early to call several races, and Elections Canada says mail-in ballots won't be counted until tomorrow, which means the results of some ridings may not be known until tomorrow.

Early results show the Liberals are leading in 157 ridings, with Conservatives having an edge in 122 and the NDP leading in 28.

To gain a majority government, a party needs to win 170 seats in the House of Commons.
