Meta to Remove News in Canada From Facebook and Instagram

The change will take effect in a few weeks

Meta says news access for Canadians will soon be removed from Facebook and Instagram.

The company says the change will take effect over the next few weeks.

This means links to news articles and other content posted by Canadian publishers and broadcaster won't be viewable on the platforms.

This comes after the Online News Act became law this summer.

The bill requires tech giants to pay Canadian news outlets for content shared on their platforms.
