New Tool Designed to Help Region Grow

Online app enables investors, from anywhere in the world, to search out land potential in Niagara, without the use of consultants

The Niagara region has another tool to show potential investors around the world that this area is open for business.

Manager of Strategic Sectors Daniel Turner revealed to the planning and economic development committee a new website, called Niagara Signature Sites, to show industrial area that's a minimum of 50-acres.

He added, for example, users can measure property online, without using consultants.  "I believe there had been previous iterations, even by the province, to showcase signature sites across the province.  We really wanted to have something in-house that we can control, of course, there are many different developments that can occur, and we wanted to have that ability at our fingertips."

He says the map is quite interactive, showing international boundaries, educational institutes, and other infrastructure.

He adds it's already had an impact.

"It's actually incredible when you see it's not just Canada, or the US... as we see, we've made some friends across the world, and in Japan.  We have people from all across the world that are reaching out through our webpage, and we hope this will be another avenue that can earn us a bit more interest."
