Homeowners to see a 2.99 percent increase in property taxes.
The Town of Niagara-on-the-Lake has finalized the 2022 Budget.
Officials say a 2.99 percent tax increase was passed, resulting in an approximate increase of $44.00 per year for the average homeowner with a property assessed at $536,960.
This increase is below the current 4.4 percent inflation rate.
"We are more focused than ever to improve our infrastructure, expand our streetscapes, and support the quality of life our residents enjoy and have come to expect," says Lord Mayor Betty Disero. "We have once again managed to maintain our services with a balanced budget."
As well, residents in urban areas may pay an additional $53.17 due to an increase in the stormwater levy.
