Nine More COVID-19 Deaths, 127 New Cases in Niagara

Niagara Public Health confirming nine more COVID-19 deaths today, bringing the region's toll to 490.

A large jump in Niagara's COVID-19 death toll. 

Public Health reporting nine more deaths today, along with 127 new cases of the virus. 

Niagara's death toll now sits at 490. 

There are 114 Niagara Health patients with the virus, 88 of which are being treated primarily for COVID-19. 

There are 26 ICU patients battling COVID-19, including 16 that are fully immunized. 

Throughout the region, there are 2,837 active cases, including 878 in St. Catharines, 572 in Niagara Falls and 328 in Welland. 

As well, there are 30 active outbreaks. 

Over 984,000 vaccinations have been administered in Niagara. 

About 86.4 percent of residents aged five and older have one dose, and 81.3 percent have two.
