The SIU says there is no evidence to suggest wrongdoing by NRP officer
The province's Special Investigations Unit isn't charging a Niagara police officer in connection with an incident at an overpass in St. Catharines.
On April 9th, police were called to the QEW overpass at Niagara Street in St. Catharines.
A woman made the call, informing dispatchers that she intended to jump.
When officers arrived, she jumped and landed several meters below, onto a grass section beside QEW Toronto bound-lanes.
She was taken to hospital with two broken ankles.
SIU Director Joseph Martino says there is no evidence suggesting the officers did anything wrong.
