Police say the thief used a knife, took off with some money
No injuries reported by Niagara Regional police after they say a thief stole some money from an Avondale store in St. Catharines.
They were called just after 9, Friday night, to Martindale Road, to find the man walked behind the counter, threatened the clerk with a knife, and demanded money.
Police say the suspect grazed the employee with the knife, before a physical struggle. The thief then ran off with some money, after the employee chased him away.
He was last seen running westbound on Grapeview Drive.
Police brought in the K9 unit, but couldn't find the suspect.
The suspect is dark skinned, in his 20s, about 5'6, with a muscular build. He was wearing a black hoodie, black pants, black mask and gloves, also black running style shoes, and a black medical style fabric mask. The hood was pulled over his head, with the drawstrings pulled tight.
