Nominations Open For Volunteer, Good Neighbour Awards

The City of St. Catharines looking to recognize individuals who donate their time and skills to benefit their community.

The City of St. Catharines has opened up nominations for the annual Volunteer and MyHoodSTC Awards.

The awards, which are returning this year in a virtual format, are looking to recognize volunteers and good neighbours who use their time and talents to help make St. Catharines a better place to live.

"Our community is incredibly diverse and compassionate. We’re looking to residents to nominate individuals who have made a difference in our community, both formally and informally," said Andrea Connelly-Miele, community and events coordinator. "Whether they volunteer with an organization, or routinely take time out of their day to assist their neighbours, we want to recognize them."

The Volunteer Awards are divided into three categories: The Volunteer Recognition Award, the Mayor's Adult Volunteer of the Year, and the Margaret and Robin MacLennan Youth Volunteer of the Year Award.

As well, the MyHoodSTC Awards will recognize residents from each of the city's six wards.

Community members can nominate someone for the Youth Award or the Connection Award.

You can nominate someone here by February 28th.
