They're looking to reward safe practices
A 6th annual partnership between Niagara regional police and Wendy's restaurants returns, to encourage safety this summer.
Part of the Summer Safety Campaign includes officers handing out frosty coupons when observing safe summer behaviour, such as wearing a helmet or life jacket.
The campaign kickoff event is Tuesday at 11am, when you can visit the Wendy's on Garrison Road in Fort Erie, Lundy's Lane in Niagara Falls or Highway 20 in Pelham.
Children up to 13 years old will receive a free bicycle helmet compliments of Wendy's, while supplies last, and free frosties. Wendy's is supplying 500 helmets, split between the 3 stores.
The idea of this summer campaign is also to encourage positive interactions between youth and police.
