Pair Charged with Pushing Drugs in Niagara

NRP say 2 men travelled from Hamilton area

Two men from the Hamilton area have been arrested after police say they were selling illegal drugs in Niagara.

The investigation began late last year, which led police to discover one of them travelling to Niagara to sell.

On Wednesday, police arrested the two, after watching several drug deals throughout the region.

Yesterday, police searched a Hamilton apartment, and found:

  • 977.9 grams of suspected Fentanyl and Carfentanil (value $110,000)
  • 193.3 of suspected cocaine and crack cocaine (value $19,000)
  • 36.8 grams of crystal methamphetamine (value $1,000)
  • 166 pills of suspected MDMA (value $1660)
  • 285 tablets of Percocet (Value $1,425)
  • $10,639 in Canadian currency

Police say 36-year old Patrick Benson of Hamilton is charged with:

  • Possession of crystal methamphetamine for the purpose of trafficking
  • Possession of ecstasy for the purpose of trafficking
  • Possession of fentanyl for the purpose of trafficking (2 Counts)
  • Possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking (2 Counts)
  • Possession of a schedule I substance (Percocet) for the purpose of trafficking
  • Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime over $5000
  • Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5000
  • Possession of ammunition contrary to a prohibition order

48-year old Caolan Faulkner of Stoney Creek is also charged with:

  • Possession of fentanyl for the purpose of trafficking
  • Possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking
  • Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5000

Benson remains in custody with a future court date, while Faulkner was released with a future court date.
