Good news for long-term care residents looking to keep cool this summer.
Minister of Long-Term Care Merrilee Fullerton notes that all 626 of Ontario's long-term care homes have at least partial air conditioning.
Currently, 60 percent of homes are fully air conditioned, including resident rooms, with that number expected to hit 83 percent by the end of summer.
This comes after the provincial government updated regulations to the Long-Term Care Homes Act, requiring air conditioning in common areas when temperatures are at least 26 degrees Celsius.
