LOS ANGELES - A music legend has died at the age of 91.

The publicist for Quincy Jones says the music titan passed away last night, surrounded by his family in his Los Angeles home.

His family has released the following statement.

"Tonight, with full but broken hearts, we must share the news of our father and brother Quincy Jones' passing. And although this is an incredible loss for our family, we celebrate the great life that he lived and know there will never be another like him."

Jones was one of the first Black executives to thrive in Hollywood. He produced Michael Jackson's record-setting thriller album, played a big role in the star-studded charity single We Are The World, and wrote prize-winning film and television scores. He collaborated with Frank Sinatra, Ray Charles and hundreds of other recording artists throughout his career.

Jones leaves behind seven children including actress Rashida Jones.
