After 51 years calling games, the iconic play by play man is getting ready to hang up the mic
Rick Jeanneret will have his name hung in the rafters, alongside the team's legendary players during a pre game ceremony tonight at Key Bank Center.
After just over a half century with the same team, Jeanneret is the longest tenured play by play announcer in NHL history.
He was inducted into the Sabres Hall of Fame in 2011, the Greater Buffalo Sports Hall of Fame in 2012 and was also given the Foster Hewitt Memorial Award and was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in November of 2012.
'RJ' will be greeted by a full house tonight, something the Sabres have not seen since the start of the pandemic.
The Niagara Falls native will call his last game on April 29th.
