Part of Step 2 of the province's reopening plan
Residents will be able to gather outdoors with up to 10 people and host indoor visits with up to two general visitors and a pair of caregivers.
As well personal care services like salons can resume within the facilities.
The province does recommend people planning a visit to a long-term care home to give them a call first to make sure the home is free of outbreak and to get information on the home's visitor policy and any other restrictions.
Restrictions will be further eased when Ontario enters Step Three of the re-opening plan.
These changes are expected to include removing the limits on the number of visitors, permitting buffet and family style dining, and allowing all residents to go on absences regardless of immunization status.
