Also two integrity commissioner reports on agenda
It will be a busy meeting this week for Niagara Falls city councillors.
On the agenda, a vaccination policy for staff.
Among the recommendations; mandatory reporting of vaccination status by September 30th and proof of full vaccination required by November 15th.
The policy also requires all staff to be fully vaccinated with a final dose at least 14 days prior to the above noted date.
Management is recommending "a failure to comply by this date or disclose the vaccination status would lead to disciplinary action up to an including termination."
Any medical exemptions would require clear documentation provided by a doctor, along with regular testing at the employee's expense.
Also up for discussion, council will be asked to approve a floating holiday for staff in lieu of giving city employees September 30th off for the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation.
City managers noting it will cost less to give staff the floating holiday, then to give the entire municipal workforce the 30th off.
A plan is also in the works that will see the city take over the full operating and programming responsibilities for the MacBain Community Centre..
With the former YMCA facilities sitting empty, staff are advising council to say yes to hiring 9 new full time and part time staff to provide aquatics, community programming, customer service, facility management and corporate communication services for the Centre.
Councillors will also be asked to approve an agreement that will see the Downtown BIA take over running of the annual Santa Claus Parade.
The agreement would see the city pay the BIA $14,000 annually for the next three years to organize and run the event.
Council will also look at two reports from its Integrity Commissioner involving complaints against Councillors Vince Kerrio and Chris Dabrowski.
And finally councillors will be asked to approve this year's inductees into the Sports Hall of Fame including Amy Audibert, Michael Pickering, Sam Quaranta and Paul Yerich.
The council meeting is scheduled for Tuesday afternoon at 4:00.
