Welland fire department union tweeted it was at auto shop
Update 9:15am:
Niagara police confirming they responded to reports of a fire this morning around 5:30, along with Welland fire fighters, to a fire at a commercial building on Southworth Street, at the corner of Lewis.
Some people living in nearby homes were evacuated, police adding they were temporarily put up in city buses for shelter.
The fire fighters union tweeted it was at an auto detailing shop.
Police add the cause is still under investigation, and the fire department leading that investigation.
