Woman Sought For Impersonating Officer

Niagara police say she was looking for prescription drugs from a Vineland seniors' complex

Niagara Regional police need your help to find a suspect they say is impersonating a police officer.

They tell us last Saturday night a resident at Heritage Village on Victoria Avenue in Vineland, a retirement community, received a knock at the door.

A woman wearing a shirt and jacket labelled "police" was at the door, saying she was a member of the Niagara Regional police.  She told the resident she was on a drug initiative, and collecting unwanted drugs for delivery to a pharmacy for disposal.

The suspect didn't produce ID, and a short time later drove off in a newer black Ford SUV, with the reflective tape reading "police".

The resident did not give any drugs.

Police say they're looking for a white woman, about 40 years old, 5'8, weighing about 160lbs, with a medium build, and short blonde hair.

Call police if you know anything.
