A 63-year-old man had to be airlifted to a trauma centre with life threatening injuries, after a crash on the Toronto bound QEW on-ramp for Highway 420 in Niagara Falls.
OPP Sergeant Kerry Schmidt says a large excavator was being transported on a flatbed yesterday, but it didn't quite fit under the bridge.
The arm hit the bridge and sent concrete flying towards the man's car.
Schmidt says the MTO will inspect the bridge to make sure it's structural integrities have not been compromised.
Anyone who may have witnessed this crash should contact Niagara OPP.
