Wrong-Way Crash on Highway 406 Kills Two People

Two people have died after a head-on collision on the 406.

It happened close to Glendale Ave early this morning.

According to OPP Sergeant Kerry Schmidt, one vehicle was travelling southbound in the northbound lanes when it when it slammed into another vehicle.

The northbound vehicle burst into flames, killing the two people inside.

Schmidt says the wrong-way driver, a 24-year-old man from Welland, is stable in hospital.

The investigation continues.
