More than 2,000 people will need to find somewhere else to go.
The YMCA in Fort Erie is slated to close its doors this fall.
The E.J. Freeland Community facility is aging and the YMCA says it's no longer sustainable.
The facility needs about $6-million in repairs and upgrades over the next 10 years.
Planned programs and services will continue through the summer, including the day camp programs.
The YMCA says there will be no job losses from the closure, and the over 50 employees will be offered employment at other branches.
